The Story Behind the Box

Why we believe small, precious things deserve a beautiful home.

Nishiki Box started with a simple observation: there's no shortage of cheap plastic organizers — and no shortage of beautiful things that deserve better.

Our brocade storage boxes combine a centuries-old textile tradition with a practical 12-compartment design. The woven brocade exterior draws from East Asian fabric-making heritage — the same type of cloth historically used to wrap precious objects, line ceremonial garments, and cover meaningful gifts.

The word nishiki itself refers to brocade fabric in Japanese — a material prized for its richness, its intricacy, and its association with things worth protecting. It felt like the right name for what we're building.

We didn't design these boxes to sit in a closet. We designed them to sit on your dresser, your display shelf, or your collector's table — holding the things that matter to you.

Whether you're organizing jewelry, storing a netsuke collection, displaying gemstones, or giving a gift that is the gift, the Nishiki Box is made for the things you value most.

What We Believe

Storage should be beautiful. If an item is worth keeping, it's worth keeping well. Our boxes are designed to be left out, not hidden away.

Tradition has purpose. Brocade fabric wasn't chosen for decoration alone. It's a material with centuries of use in protecting valued objects across East Asian culture. We're continuing that tradition.

Collectors deserve options. Whether you're a netsuke enthusiast, a gemstone hobbyist, a coin collector, or someone who simply wants their jewelry organized — the Nishiki Box works for you.
